Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 in 1983. Maggie Grace is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Born in Worthington Ohio she left high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the video on-demand show Rachel's Room in 2001. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and she shared the Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) along with her. Grace decided to leave the show to concentrate on her acting career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog earlier in the year 2005. She appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of these role. Grace returned to her role as Shannon in Lost and the final episode. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. The actress plays Faith as a groupie, and also her muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal family and is the sister to Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in her father's movies and co-starred with her older brother in Donnie Darko which is a famous cult film. She then appeared on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a drama) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. In 2006, she appeared in several commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However, it was her role as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). As the single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She then appeared in dramas and comedies such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other characters include as a secret agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013, singing in Frank 2014 and as a singer the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the main role. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
